Its fast, old-school punk with melodic male vocals and female backups.
Spotty Botty is currently playing shows in Ontario, Quebec and New York. Spotty Botty was formed in the spring of 1997 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by guitarist/vocalist Roddy Muir and drummer/vocalist Joolz Montgomery of the now deceased Toronto band RepeatOffender. Joined by overdriven bass player Preston Sims(Wounded Paw) of the Spazmz (where Roddy also played) and a little later by lead guitarist Jamie of Anti-Flag, Spotty Botty began playing shows around Toronto in the summer of 1997. In August 1997 Spotty Botty recorded and released a 6-song cassette (self-titled) with the generous help of Kevan Parry at Signal-to-Noise Studios. The tape is available at Rotate This, Whos Emma and through Wounded Paw mail order. Jamie left for Pittsburgh to play full time with Anti-Flag in the winter of 1997, and Simon replaced her on lead guitar. But he too moved on to England. Finally, in November 1998, Shawna Carlton of Dear Departed fame joined the band, adding a whole new dimension to the sound. Spotty Botty has since played shows in Toronto, Kingston, Oakville, Kitchener, Montreal, Quebec City, and at the infamous annual punk camp-out Punkfest, which was not held at Spiderland Acres (Marmora) this summer, but in a nature park in Tweed, Ontario. A New York City mini-tour is currently being planned for November or December of this year. Band is deceased as of 2000
